First opening in 1853, World Museum is the oldest of the museums and galleries operated by National Museums Liverpool, providing collections and displays of science, earth, and different human cultures from around the world. The museum required temporary red facade lighting for the eight month Terracotta Warrior display.
Tryka were appointed by National Museums Liverpool to deliver the lighting scheme, following the success of the St George’s Hall project with Liverpool Council. The brief was to replace the mostly failed white lighting with an upgraded RGBW system on the building’s beautiful Victorian facade.
Tryka Strip Modules and Aura 6 RGBW luminaires were cleverly placed to illuminate the entire front facade and highlight the sides of the museum building. The colour changing effect is controlled via a ShowCAD control system. The dynamic, colour changing lighting display helps the museum bring history to life.
